Quick Cash Writing Review

Quick Cash Writing is a writing course which has been created by Nick Daws, an accomplished British author, with more than 80 books to his credit. Besides being a career and business writer, he has also created a number of online courses.

What does the book cover?

Daws writes comprehensively about finding the time to write, a major concern among many writers. The book outlines several simple and practical ways of finding time for writing. The author also tackles the subject of goal setting. He offers guidelines on setting goals, making them specific and how to keep goals on target.

The book reveals many kinds of opportunities of making money through writing. Module two covers reader’s letters, which the author suggests is a quick way of bringing in writing income. However, contrary to what the book suggests, reader’s letters are hardly paid for by magazines. Module three focuses mainly on the Readers Digest magazine.

Module four about greeting cards is very enlightening. The broad range of greeting cards available means that there is a huge market out there for writers. However, this section does not offer much insight about how to make money in the digital card industry. Module five contains rare tips for slogan writing, as well as participating in forums.

Module six covers the selling of photographs, either as a product by itself, or as an accompaniment to articles. Many writers include photos in their articles, but never think about the likelihood of selling them as separate products. This section suggests a number of websites where one can submit photos for pay.

Module seven offers information about writing reviews and articles. However, there are no websites listed here. The module focuses on writing articles and reviews for print.

Module eight is about short stories. It offers a great list of sites which hold cash writing contests. Module nine covers comedy writing and has a list of websites where writers can submit humorous pieces.

Module ten on brain teasers and puzzles is very interesting. Few writers consider creating crosswords or puzzles for pay. This section offers several web addresses where one can submit puzzles for pay.

Module eleven offers tips for writing movie pitches and ideas. It reveals the mind-blowing amounts of money that can be made with this kind of writing.

The author also addresses the idea of selling work overseas, which many writers don’t do. When writers focus on local markets only, they limit their marketing reach as well as their income.

For each subject, Daws talks about specific markets and explains how one can be successful with each market.

What I didn’t like

Quick Cash Writing is offered as a ‘course’. However, there are no assignments or lessons to submit for grading. At completion, no diploma or certificates are given. In addition, the ‘course’ does not offer any sample exercises for writers. Therefore, the ‘course’ is more of an eBook offering guidelines for finding writing markets.

The book does not have a table of contents, which makes it difficult to know where to find specific sections. In addition, there is some information that has been excessively repeated from pages 1 to 12.

Who can benefit from this course?

Quick Cash Writing is highly recommended for anyone who would want to make money through their writing. For those who have never had their writings published before, the book offers advice on how to break in. Those who are published will find a wide range of ideas for increasing their writing income in a short time.

Quick Cash Writing is sold for $39.95 US. Once paid for, the full color PDF file is easily downloadable on any PC or laptop that has Adobe Reader.
